The Flower Leaf collection draws inspiration from the intricate shapes and textures of flowers from around the world. Every metal object by Michael Aram goes through a series of grinding, polishing and polishing techniques. Variations or "imperfections" in the finish of a product are inherent in the creation process. Due to this nature of handwork, no two products are exactly the same. "For me, forms evoke a feeling of freshness and fragility. They are also a metaphor for life itself. Growth, vitality, pulsation. I love the contrast of the natural polished metal on the outside of these pieces with the enamel color on the inside. The flowers are huge and, although very realistic in their depiction, they suggest magical gardens where scale and color combine to create a sense of fantasy.'
