The Italian company Mepra is one of the leaders in the stainless steel cutlery and cookware market, with a wide range of products in its range, both in design and price.

The Mepra brand name, whose history began in 1947, comes from the abbreviated name of the factory "Metallurgica Prandelli", which was founded by the Prandelli brothers in 1901. Initially, Mepra&specialized in the production of aluminum and copper products.

It was the Mepra company that in 1950 was the first in the world to offer the production of cutlery made of steel with a formula of chromium and nickel additives of 18 and 10%. This venture was successful, and by 1972 the company was constantly growing and expanding its product line to include stainless steel cookware and cutlery.

In the 80s, Mepra began experimenting with new materials, combining plastic, glass, wood and porcelain in its products. During these years, Mepra became a trendsetter in its mass market sector, and was the first to start the practice of hiring popular designers to develop visual concepts for new product lines.

In the 90s, the company paid special attention to the design of cutlery and stainless steel cookware. For this, young and successful designers of the time were hired, such as Angelo Mangiarotti, who still works for the company.

Mepra was one of the first to develop and produce stainless steel pots with a thick and multi-layered bottom, which allowed the company to enter the Gourmet kitchenware market. And the cutlery is distinguished by its design, durability and long service life.
